SMSC Within the Curriculum
Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) education is the over-arching umbrella that encompasses Personal Development across the whole curriculum. It is seen across all aspects of school life and draws many aspects of learning together. Underpinned by our Christian school values, it encourages our pupils to consider the kind of people they aspire to be, provides opportunities for reflection and discussion and gives a solid foundation on which pupils can grow and develop in confidence and maturity. Our pupils learn to respect and appreciate their own cultures and beliefs, and the richness of the range of different cultures and beliefs in the school and further afield, as an essential element of their preparation for life in modern Britain. It also enables them to shape and have an impact on the kind of world which they are part of.
